Abstract. In the article the problem of gender notions changing in public conscience in socio-historical context with the use of the procedural models of "pendulum" and the law of "negation of negation" is analyzed. The author summarizes the tendencies of gender transformations and also states that a new type of gender relations will unite the life-affirming features of both traditional and new in the interests of individuals and society, that the union of the man and the woman can be harmonized only on the assumption of the achievement of a new level of mutual freedom and responsibility.
