MILITARY SECURITY OF STATE THROUGH THE LENSES OF ANCIENT PHILOSOPHICAL REFLECTION

Abstract. The article examines the views of the philosophers of Antiquity on the military security of the state. The author believes that its imperatives included not only spiritual experience, but lifestyle promoting the strengthening of the physical condition of the human being with moderate requirements. The standard of modesty was typical for Platonism, Cynics, Epicureans and Stoics. Though the arguments of the thinkers of the mentioned philosophical schools on the level of military security differed, the general outline was similar - they considered it necessary.
