TRADITIONS OF THE INDIAN RITUAL DANCE MODEL KATHAKALI IN PERFORMING ART OF THE JAPANESE RITUAL THEATRE MODEL NOGAKU

Abstract. The article identifies relations between the performing art traditions of the Indian traditional ritual dance model kathakali and the Japanese traditional ritual theatre model nogaku. The author analyzes the means of scenic expressiveness used while implementing canonic image, focuses on the sacral function of the performances kathakali and nogaku. The paper describes the stages undergone by nogaku performers to acquire the quality "meditation in motion", which helps to transfer the ritual essence of canonic image.
