FORMATION AND REALIZATION OF POLICY OF MULTICULTURALISM IN CANADA

Abstract. In the article the stages of the formation of the policy of multiculturalism in Canada are analyzed. Its basic principles, essence and significance are considered. The conclusion that this policy is aimed at supporting multilingual media, the activity of cultural communities, folk festivals is made. It is revealed that within the framework of the policy of multiculturalism a lot of programs that contributed to the preservation of the native language, traditions and culture of the ethnic groups were realized.
