IDEAS OF PATRIOTIC EDUCATION IN SOCIAL AND POLITICAL ESSAYS BY N. M. KARAMZIN OF THE BEGINNING OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract. The article considers the ideas of patriotic education of N. M. Karamzin, which are contained in his social and political essays of the beginning of the XIX century: the idea of the necessity of the protection of the originality of Russia; the idea of the citizen’s upbringing in the family. The general understanding of patriotism in social and political essays by N. M. Karamzin is revealed, from which the appropriate ideas of patriotic education may be concluded and which may serve as a methodological basis for identifying patriotic ideas in literary works. The author substantiates the topicality of the ideas of patriotic education of N. M. Karamzin in the modern Russian society.
