WAR BETWEEN THE MONGOLIAN ULUSES JOCHI AND HULAGU TO CONTROL THE SOUTH-WESTERN CASPIAN BASIN IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIII CENTURY

Abstract. The article examines causes for war between two Mongolian uluses Jochi and Hulagu in the second half of the XIII century and describes the course of hostilities between them. Relying on the analysis of historical sources and the scientific papers of modern researchers the author concludes that a stimulus for the war was territorial conflict on ownership of the rich pasture lands of the South-East Caucasus.
