DAGHESTAN IN THE CAUCASIAN POLICY OF RUSSIA IN THE 40S OF THE XVIII CENTURY

Abstract. The article examines Daghestan vector of the Caucasian policy of the Russian Empire in the 40s of the XVIII century on the basis of the analysis of archival materials and historical literature. This period is characterized by political realities aggravation in the North Caucasus caused by the Russian-Iranian and the Russian-Turkish contradictions because of the sphere of influence in the region, and also the heroic struggle of the mountaineers of Daghestan against Nadir Shah. According to the researched documents during the course of the people’s liberation struggle the further growth of the pro-Russian orientation of the local rulers takes place.
