PROBLEM OF KABARDA ENTERING INTO THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE STRUCTURE IN THE SOVIET HISTORIOGRAPHY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the problem of Kabarda entering into the Russian Empire structure in the Soviet historiography. Conceptual approaches that dominated in science in different periods of its development, specifically, the conception of "absolute evil", the essence of which was in the criticism of imperial colonial policy, the idea of "the least evil" that emphasized the lack of a suitable alternative to entering Russia for Kabarda, the theory of "voluntary joining Russia by the Kabarda people and its progressive consequences", and also other viewpoints of researchers on the problems of the Russian-Kabarda historic interaction are examined.
