THEATRE INTELLIGENTSIA AND ENTERTAINMENT ARTS IN THE URAL REGION IN FEBRUARY AND OCTOBER 1917

Abstract. The article studies the characteristic features of a particular professional group of intellectuals in the Ural region - a theater one - in February and October 1917 such as changes in theatrical repertoire, the inclusion of theater in public and political life, and the functioning of theater under the conditions of the revolutionary transformation of the Russian society. The author considers the peculiarities of private theatrical enterprise in the Ural region in February and October 1917, and the participation of theater groups in charitable activity related to the support of political parties, military units and public initiatives.
