INTELLECTUAL HISTORY AS APPROACH TO STUDYING CHURCH HISTORICAL SCIENCE OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX - THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE XX CENTURY (TO THE ISSUE STATEMENT)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the research of the opportunities and perspectives of intellectual history in studying the Russian church historical science of the second half of the XIX - the first quarter of the XX century. This choice is conditioned by the fact that intellectual history studying the social, political, religious, cultural aspects of the process of the creation of historical works and concepts is able to enlarge the understanding of the aims, methods and principles of the work of church historians, and also the socio-cultural context of the creation and distribution of their treatises.
