MOTIVE OF KISS IN CREATIVE WORK OF SCULPTOR S. ERZIA (ON THE ISSUE OF ICONOGRAPHY OF ART NOUVEAU AND SYMBOLISM)

Abstract. The article presents an overview of fine art works of art nouveau and symbolism, in which there is a motive of kiss, and analyzes its basic semantic connotations. The author traces the gradual development of this motive in the creative work of S. D. Erzia (from 1908 to 1954) revealing the originality of its content and formal-stylistic interpretation by the sculptor. The motive of kiss is transparent to the master, and it is the evidence of the integrity of his artistic world and proximity to art nouveau style.
