Abstract. The article deals with the analysis of internal political processes in post-Soviet Georgia. The stages of the formation of the new Georgian statehood are considered in integrity and dynamics. It is shown that since the origination and formation of the liberal policy and the political elite of Georgia militaristic policy has intensified in its ideas and actions. The cooperation with the USA in military sphere has taken Georgia in terms of militarization rate in the lead in the region and it is considered as a factor that determined the choice by the Georgian elite of militarism as ideology and practice of war expansionism. The conclusions of the work can be used in researches related to the improvement of various aspects of security in the region.
