Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of the development and the themes of the researches of the scientists and teachers of "Dalrybvtuz" in 1970-1991. The authors describe the contribution of the scientists of higher school to the development of fishing industry in the USSR, the scientific works of higher school teachers, and the problems, which scientists faced while organizing research work in the higher education establishment. Accumulated experience can be used successfully at the transition of sectoral higher education establishments to the new standards of professional personnel training for national economy.
