Abstract. The analysis of the theological approach of the medieval authors of literary and chronicle texts is conducted for the identification of these texts semantics. Ancient authors generally explained the reasons of public life events either by the will of God or the machinations of Satan. They reproduced it in their texts, but by the means that the modern man, who knows little about theology, can’t understand. The author of the article tries to create an algorithm for recognizing the theological semantics of ancient texts for further use by the representatives of scientific community in analytical work with narrative sources.
