Abstract. The author considers the main philosophical ideas of both professional and amateur sport. The thesis about the ability to counter the crisis of corporality in modern society by means of the organization of mass amateur sports leagues and the development of the theoretical foundations of sports education is proposed. After the degradation of sports system in the 1990s the interest and attention of society and the government to the moral and philosophical ideas of sport regenerate in Russia. The article is devoted to the development of some of them - familiarization with the tradition, aspiration for perfection and others.
