INTEGRATION PROCESSES IN CENTRAL ASIA WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN AND THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA IN THE 90S OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of integration processes in Central Asia with the participation of China and Kazakhstan in the period from 1992 till 2001. The prerequisites of the integration, the ways of its realization, and the principal directions of cooperation are studied. Special attention is paid to complexities and challenges in the integration processes. The main normative legal documents in this area are analyzed. The novelty of the work consists in the fact that the initial period of the Sino-Kazakh integration efforts in Central Asia before the Shanghai Cooperation Organization formation is considered in detail.
