Abstract. In the article the author considers the ethnic and cultural privacy of the North peoples as an object of the scientific research of culture. Its structuring has such heuristic value as the elementwise comparison of the culture of the North peoples and the culture of other social subjects, and this elemental composition is contained in a skimmed form in other structural elements of the North culture singled out on any other different basis (traditional - new, cultural environment - the subject of culture, the culture of different social subjects - an individual, a group, a certain nation or people, etc.).
