Abstract. The article examines relevant problems of philosophical education in higher school. The author believes that the modern social context of philosophical education has ambiguous, contradictory impact on it. It is characterized by descending process caused by the domination of the form of education over its necessary content. It reduces the quality of philosophical education, emphasizes technocratic tendencies in it and weakens intellectual elements traditionally characteristic for philosophy as specific intellectual practice of ideological nature.
