Abstract. The article is devoted to the musical life of Norilsk in the postwar years. The activity of artistic groups, the range of genres: opera, operetta, string-bow, wind, pop and jazz orchestras, choral music, solo performance - vocal and instrumental - are considered. The feature of the creative life of Norilsk is that the founders and leaders of many creative groups, as well as the first teachers in music schools were prisoners. The role of concert activity in the spiritual life of the town is evaluated. The names that played a significant role in the development of musical culture of Norilsk are presented.
