THE ABKHAZIANS’ TRADITIONAL LAW: LEGAL PROCEEDINGS IN PEOPLE’S COURTS DURING PRE-LEGAL PERIOD

Abstract. The article researches the so called "traditional law" of the Abkhazians. The author analyzes the structure and the way of the formation of the People’s Court, the process of legal proceedings realization and adjudication, and also the main rights and obligations of persons participating in trial. Within the frames of the Caucasus peoples’ law history the paper studies some documents describing the People’s Court functioning. The main task of the work is to reveal the degree of the traditional Abkhazian law influence on society, and also law evolution with the course of time.
