MATERIALS OF AGRICULTURAL CENSUS OF 1917 ON DEVELOPMENT OF TRADES IN YAKUTIA

Abstract. The article examines the problems of the development of trades in Yakutia relying on the materials of the agricultural census of 1917. According to the census programme, fur-farming, fishery, gold mining, carrier’s trade were referred to as trades. On the basis of archival and published materials the author analyzes the development of each of these branches, the structure of the population engaged in trades, and identifies factors, which conditioned the development of trades in the investigated region.
