Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the theoretical foundations of the research of the daily routine history of higher education establishments. The main aspects of the activity of higher education establishments and the peculiarities of academic culture, which are revealed at different levels of daily routine, are considered. Suggesting a new approach to the problem study, the author tries to comprehend the versatility and multidimensionality of daily routine as well as to correlate the everyday life of the educational institution with the "life world" of the individual.
