ELEMENTS OF CIRCUS AND CLOWNERY IN THE TATAR THEATER (ISSUES OF SCENOGRAPHY)

Abstract. In the article the issues of the transformation and interpretation of circus art in the Tatar theater at different stages of its development (by the example of the theater named after G. Kamal) are raised. The elements of circus performances in mass folk festivals and games are considered. Special attention is given to experiments in the field of circusation in the 1920s, to the continuation of the traditions of show-booth and clownery in comedy and satirical performances in the 1970-90s. The original use of circus techniques at the present stage, which has led to qualitative changes in scenography and in characters’ appearance, is noted.
