Abstract. The article examines the process of the development of Vietnamese sculpture in the period of renovation and global reforms in the country (1986-2000). The author studies the orientation and value changes in the history of the country, which gave impulse to the development of abstract stylistic movements in art. An essential part of the work is material about the specificity of the spiritual mastering and evaluation of world art practice. The works of sculpture created both by leading masters and young artists are analyzed.
