DOMESTIC POLITICAL ACTIVITY OF MARGARET THATCHER’S CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT (1987-1990)

Abstract. The article deals with the domestic political activity of Margaret Thatcher’s conservative government from 1987 till 1990. The results of the parliamentary elections in 1987, which allowed Margaret Thatcher’s conservative government for the third time to continue the course of the initiated reforms, are analyzed. The changes made by the Conservatives in social sphere, labor relations and public administration are shown. The author concludes that during the realization of the policy-making principles of the Conservatives the problem that later on led to the crisis of the conducted policy had been discovered.
