Abstract. The article aims to identify the factors characterizing the modernity of the creative achievements of Dagestan composers. The author tries to cover, at least partially, the problem of the innovative nature of modern Dagestan piano music on the basis of the analysis of the genre, which presupposes the domination of European culture logos in the phenomenon of national composer school. Therefore the researcher chose for the analysis the Concert for Piano and Orchestra by M. Kasumov.
