SIGNIFICANCE OF ANTI-CHURCH DEMARCHE OF 931 IN CHRISTIAN HISTORY OF ALANIA

Abstract. The article deals with one of the important episodes of the Christian history of Alania connected with the deportation of the Byzantine clergy in 931. This event is usually given as the evidence of the superficial perception of Christianity within the Alanian society. The undertaken analysis of the system of non-simultaneous and diverse sources leads to the opposite conclusion - about the quick and deep integration of the Alanian society and state into the Eastern Christian civilization.
