RELIGIOUS TRANSGRESSION AND ITS IMPACT ON CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY

Abstract. The article analyses the phenomenon of transgression, which has found its application also in the spiritual sphere of the contemporary society. The author’s view on religious transgression is suggested. The notion is presented; the peculiarities and the main reason of this phenomenon are revealed. Besides, the conclusion is made about the role and place of religion in cultural-historical process on the basis of the estimations of the evolution of religious values. As a result of the analysis of the contemporary situation in Russia the assessment of the degree of the significance of Orthodox values for the society is given.
