Abstract. The article is devoted to the regional specifics of the Italian polyphonic song of the beginning of the XVI century examined by the example of Veneto musicians’ activity and frottole collections by Ottaviano Petrucci, Andrea Antico and other music printers. To the specific features of Venetian and Padua frottolists the author refers their multiplicity, the prevalence of the church choir directors, the activity of the musicians-publishers and the representativeness regarding the state of frottola culture in Northern Italy.
