CRISIS OF MODERNITY IDEA IN THE CONTEXT OF FAILED MODERNIZATION

Abstract. The article examines the aggravation of the conflict of the values of the modern European society and the traditionalistic structures of mass consciousness in the conditions of post-Soviet demodernization. The reasons of the strengthening of traditionalism, antimodernization policy and anti-westernism are disclosed. The author substantiates the statement that the denial of modernity, its ideas and values has a compensatory nature and is conditioned by the failure of modernization processes in Russia.
