Abstract. The article examines the problem of the noncontroversial coexistence in contemporary mass culture of antagonistic discourses, consumer and religious (by the example of Orthodox one), conditioned by the rearticulation of the latter into subdiscourse integrated in consumer society and not breaking the status quo. The peculiarities of subdiscourse are revealed through comparison with Orthodox discourse and the analysis of its structure. Such components as participants and their goals, chronotopos, strategies, values, precedent texts are analyzed.
