REPRESENTATIVE RESOURCE OF THE VISUAL: ANALYTICAL REVIEW OF PHILOSOPHICAL RESEARCHES

Abstract. The article examines the phenomenon of representation, which is widely presented in visual researches. In this regard the analytical review of the works in the spheres of philosophy, culturology, art criticism devoted to this phenomenon is conducted. The main approaches to understanding representation are described, and also the explication of the direct and reverse mechanisms of the mutual impact of the visual and the social is performed. The author deduces a number of the peculiarities of representation determining the specificity of social-cultural and cognitive processes.
