CORRELATION OF PAGAN AND CHRISTIAN CULTURAL TRADITIONS OF FOLK HOLIDAY: AXIOLOGICAL DIMENSION (BY THE MATERIALS OF RITES OF THE DNIEPER REGION)

Abstract. The author following culturological approach studies the transformation processes that took place in the field of the folk holidays of the Southern Slavs after the Christianization of Rus. The conclusion about the correlation of pagan and Christian cultural traditions in the folk holiday is drawn. It is noted that Church confirmed in folk rituals humanistic values, as well as a new "God-centric" model of the world. In the article the hierarchy of the basic value constituents of the axiological kernel of the traditional folk holiday is presented for the first time.
