PROBLEMS OF INTERPRETING DISTURBED BURIALS OF VAKH-KUR BURIAL GROUND

Abstract. The article raises the problems of interpreting the disturbed burials of the largest necropolis of Yudino culture - Vakh-Kur burial ground. The analysis of the existing versions indicated that the researchers’ opinions differ and still we have no grounded answers to the questions: who, when and why committed actions that resulted in the removal of the remains and inventory. The paper presents new data indicating the robbery of the monument by the local population in the XX century (which was not mentioned earlier by researchers). The author concludes on more complicated nature of the disturbances than it was imagined before.
