Abstract. In the article the attempt to explain the important role of the Baltic Communists in the entrenchment of Bolsheviks’ power in the territory of Vyatka region during the period of the Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War is made. The "passionary" conception of L. N. Gumilyov serves as methodological basis of this hypothesis. The author, using the geopolitical concept "frontier zone", explains the reasons for the significant role of the Baltic communists in the revolutionary events of 1918-1919 in Russia and in one of its regions.
