TRADITIONS OF MOSCOW LANDSCAPE SCHOOL OF "THE UNION OF RUSSIAN ARTISTS" IN B. S. UGAROV’S CREATIVE WORKS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the creative heritage of B. S. Ugarov (1922-1991), the People’s Artist of the USSR, the member and president of the Academy of Arts (1983-1991). Attention is drawn to the duality of the aspirations of the artists, who belonged to Moscow landscape school "The Union of Russian Artists". It is ascertained that Leningrad painter B. S. Ugarov created landscapes both in the pre-impressionistic manner of developed plein air and in impressionistic style and thus continued successfully the traditions of Moscow landscape painters.
