Abstract. In the conditions of the transition to multipolarity new world and regional centers, which play an important role in making political, economic and other decisions that are important for the global population, are formed. One of such centers is Russia, which represents the interests including the ones of the post-Soviet countries of the Eurasian region on international scene. In the article the author makes an attempt to identify the outlines of the Eurasian Union in mid-term prospect taking into account the interest in Eurasian values ??of this or that people, and making allowance for the political course chosen by the leaders of the states geographically belonging to the Eurasian region.
