STOIC DIALECTICS OF WHOLE AND PART AND THE PROBLEM OF SUICIDE
Lyashchenko Maksim Nikolaevich
Orenburg State University
Abstract. The article analyzes the metaphysical and thanatological foundations of suicide in the context of the paradigmatic attitudes of ancient Stoa philosophers, who agree to consider the world as a holistic, closed and total system expressed in the category "Whole". Relying on value and existential approach the author justifies the thesis that suicide is an open and necessary mechanism for "Whole" to remove any of its parts, which threatens the preservation, harmony and improvement of the system.
Key words and phrases: суицид, "Целое", судьба, "суперпрограмма", природа, стоицизм, suicide, "Whole", destiny, "super-programme", nature, stoicism
