TEMPLE OF THE HOLY FACE IN ABRAMTSEVO. ON THE PROBLEM OF INTERPRETING TRADITIONS OF NORTHWESTERN RUSSIA AND THE RUSSIAN NORTH

Abstract. The article analyzes the architecture, interior and history of the creation of the Temple of the Holy Face in Abramtsevo. The goal of the research is to examine the influence of the art of northwestern Russia and the Russian North. The paper aims to argue for the importance of certain traditions in the formation of the neo-Russian style. The author introduces the terms "multi-vector nature of artistic influences" and "artistic and semantic synthesis". The researcher concludes that the interpretation of the northern traditions was an important foundation for the revival of the Russian national art at the border of the XIX-XX centuries.
