THEME OF MUSIC IN PAINTING AND GRAPHICS OF MARC CHAGALL

Abstract. The article is devoted to the musical iconography of Marc Chagall, the semantic interpretation of music images that he created in the works of painting and graphics: a floating in the air violinist, a man-cello, biblical kings David and Solomon with a harp in their hands, trumpeting angels, a brother and a sister playing the mandolin, beasts, which are playing music, and klezmer ensemble, variety-circus and symphony orchestras. The theme of music is considered as cross-cutting in the works of Chagall determining the unique originality of his artistic world.
