POLICY OF "WORLD POWERS" IN CHINA AND "BOXER REBELLION" IN EVALUATIONS OF MAGAZINE " НАБЛЮДАТЕЛЬ" ("THE OBSERVER")

Abstract. The article covers the position of one of the famous Russian right-wing conservative editions of A. P. Pyatkovsky "Наблюдатель" ("The Observer") in relation to the policy of the leading countries in China during the "Boxer Rebellion" (1899-1901). The magazine interpretations of the reasons for the conflict, the goals of the powers involved in its suppression, and the general results of the "international operation" are characterized. Special attention is also paid to some other important aspects: the author considers the attitude of contemporaries to the edition and its financing by the government.
