Abstract. The article considers the main directions of the scientific cooperation of the Polish and Russian state structures including the Russian and Polish Academies of Science, higher education establishments and other institutions. The author reveals the role and place of academic cooperation between the two countries in the system of the Russian-Polish relations, and trends in the development of the Polish-Russian inter-university cooperation at the end of the XX - the beginning of the XXI century. The article determines the main results of the Polish-Russian scientific relations that were achieved during the period under consideration.
