WORK OF ART IN IDEAL-FORMING SYSTEM OF ARTISTIC CULTURE

Abstract. The article examines problems connected with the specifics of the conceptions of "culture", "artistic culture", "a work of art". Culture is defined as human activity on cultivating ideals, artistic culture - as a subsystem of culture capable of generating equilibrium ideals. The author reveals the essential nature of a work of art - the basic element of artistic culture. A work of visual art is analyzed as an artificial and elaborate ideal.
