SOCIOCULTURAL DETERMINATION OF LITERARY SPACE OF THE WEIMAR REPUBLIC

Abstract. The article reveals the reasons and ways of the transformation of sociocultural situation in the Weimar Republic. The author considers the cultural life of Germany comprehending it as dynamically changing reality as a result of the modernization of all sides of public life. The actualization of the problems of war and peace and the imbalance of mutual relations between a human and the state are explained. A brief review of the main literary schools of this period explains the origins of syncretism in fiction and literature is comprehended as one of the factors of the qualitative changes of the mental structure of a human. The author concludes that the popularization of certain ideas by means of literary creativity becomes a basis for national myth and actualizes the image of new Germany in the Germans’ mentality.
