Abstract. The article is devoted to investigating the role of the religious factor of sociocultural regulation in modern Russia. The theoretical conceptions of the Orthodox ideologists are analyzed in the context of the dynamics of secular and religious in public conscience. The author emphasizes that along with ideas encouraging the dialogue of Church and society, the theological understanding of the problem of international, inter-confessional and cross-cultural interaction, the social doctrine also contains conceptions capable of complicating this dialogue.
