Abstract. The article is devoted to the methodological analysis of art criticism as a technology. Technology as a universal form of thought is typical for any kind of creativity, production and social work. The author shows the functioning of universal heuristic mechanisms for the generation of knowledge in technology, he also investigates the unconscious psychic mechanisms of understanding in artistic and scientific interpretations, analyzes the functioning of the principle of universalism in creative work and in wild life. By the example of various cultural types the paper shows the integrative technological processes of civilization, of which they constitute a structure.
