RESEARCH GRANTS: SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF CONCEPTION

Abstract. The basic goal of the article is a formation of a new approach to the definition of the conception of "grant" taking into account all the functions performed by grant system in modern science. The paper examines the key principles of grant financing developed within the framework of regulatory approach, describes methods for the reinforcement of the methodology. On the basis of the systematization of available data and the sociological analysis of the conception from the viewpoint of P. Bourdieu’s theory the author suggests considering a grant as a system of distributing not only material resources but also scientific capital in the sphere of science.
