MYTHOGENIC FUNCTION OF THE MODERN RUSSIAN TELEVISION AND ROLE OF PERSONAL MYTHOLOGIZING

Abstract. The article examines the phenomenon of propagating mythological social conceptions in the Russian society and their influence on television. The author emphasizes that the realization of mythogenic function by the Russian television performs a kind of therapeutic role in relation to cultural and value crisis experienced by the society. An important place in the efficiency of such influence on tele-audience belongs to the personal mythologizing of TV personalities, the creation of their myphologized images by the expressive means of television.
