GENDER REPRESENTATION OF ETHNIC IDENTITY OF THE MARI: ON PROBLEM STATEMENT

Abstract. The article deals with the problem of the revelation technique of the gender representation of the Mari ethnic identity. The multidimensionality of the problem research topicality is shown. The review of the history of gender research is given briefly, the novelty of the work is identified. The author suggests using the texts of folklore and literary genres as sources of the study of the gender aspect of ethnic identity. It is suggested including the combination of the traditional methods of humanities and the ways of the determination of quantitative estimation used in mathematical statistics into the analysis techniques.
