PROBLEMS OF IDENTIFICATION OF POLITICAL-LEGAL STATUS OF THE CASPIAN REGION AND GEOPOLITICAL INTERESTS OF THE USA AND RUSSIA

Abstract. The article is devoted to the indefinite political-legal status of the Caspian region and to the reasons of the disagreements of the near-Caspian states. The analysis of the USA methods on distancing coastal states from Russia and weakening the position of the latter in the region is presented in the work. Finally, measures, which are able to initiate the process of the development of common decision with the observance of the geopolitical interests of Russia, are suggested.
